In 2020, Alexandra Meyer received support from the Svalbard Environmental Protection Fund for a project focusing on outdoor life (Happiness in times of change: “Friluftsliv” and climate change in Svalbard, RIS-ID 11355), together with Tomas Salem. The research had to be postponed to 2021 and Alex and Tomas are looking forward to their fieldwork in spring this year. Zdenka Sokolickova received support from Svalbard Science Forum (Arctic Field Grant) for a project looking at precarity of youth growing up in Svalbard (Teenagers without land: Offspring of economic migrants to Svalbard in an overheated world, RIS-ID 11625), with fieldwork planned for spring 2021 and winter 2022.

Good luck! We also encourage other members of SSSI to apply this year and we are happy to assist you with the application process.
